Nathan's Small Delights: SD_000

It's February. It's 2025.

Ayup, what’s good?

This one is gonna be quick. Things are surreal right now and I have found that it can sometimes be overwhelming. I personally prefer to be whelmed, so I felt it was a good idea to zoom in and acknowledge the small delights in life.

The Delights

It has taken about a year and a half, but I finally have my record collection cataloged and organized in a way that makes almost perfect sense to me. Very exciting. Even more exciting is this image from the insert included in the 1969 chartbuster How To Be A Success In Life Insurance Selling.

What a delight!

Record Jockey on the web

Long time friend and excellent label head honcho Adam Warped (Whiskey Pickle/Cala Tarida Musica) asked me to whip up a mix for his Strange Days show. I did, and here it is. First half is Adam and the not first half is not Adam.

Record Jockey in the wild

The weather is easing back into the kind where you might just want to get out of the house. If you are feeling that way in Austin on Sunday (16 Feb), then boy howdy you should come out to Nomadic Beerworks. Above The Trees and I will be doing the record selector thing from 3pm till whenever we stop doing it. The brewery is family friendly so I will not be playing the 1999 French House classic by Jess & Crabbe - The Big Booya, but I will be digging deep in the collection for all those delightful oddball records that I rarely get a chance to play.

That’s a wrap for now!
